Open Positions:
OFFICE / WEB ASSISTANT (OWA-1)
- Office administrative tasks such as clerical work, printing/mailing, sorting and organizing incoming and outgoing mail, answering phones and directing calls or taking and delivering messages, monitoring and procuring office supplies, returning phone calls and serving as an intermediate point of contact when the need arises and other secretarial tasks as needed.
- Basic project communications (we use Basecamp for project management).
- Understanding of various social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, and how to do various updates.
- Updating site and page content.
- Adding and modifying images and graphics as necessary.
- Publishing web pages to live site.
- Checking websites for broken links.
- Content editing following usability best practices for the web.
- Acting as a liaison between our team members and internal or external website committees.
- Attendance at periodic web production or committee meetings.
- Previous experience in an office setting required.
- Experience updating web pages, images, and other online activities required.
- Basic working knowledge of HTML and web technologies is preferred.
- Experience using various website editing and authoring tools such as Dreamweaver, WordPress, and other content management systems is preferred.
- Previous experience with website maintenance.
- Experience with web usability guidelines and best practices for content, hyperlinks, graphics, and accessibility.
- Experience with various administrative tasks such as answering phones, placing outbound follow-up calls, sending and receiving packages, and other office managerial tasks.
- Ability to communicate and write professionally.
WEB DESIGNER (WD-1)
JOB SUMMARY
The web designer is responsible for creating, designing, developing, and maintaining various internal and client web sites, performing content updates and editing, editing product photography, creating banner ads for online advertising and email newsletters, updating blogs, and utilizing the features of WordPress and other content management systems. The web designer should be comfortable with computers and possess an understanding of how websites and the Internet works. Technical experience is required, but we need to see a design background for a candidate to be considered for this position. A portfolio of work samples must be provided for consideration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designing and creating original wireframes, page designs, and website templates from concepts and client discussions.
- Basic project management (we use Basecamp for project management).
- Overall web site maintenance.
- Creating new pages from templates using WordPress or other content management systems.
- Understanding of various social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, and how to do various updates.
- Updating site and page content.
- Adding and modifying images and graphics as necessary.
- Publishing web pages to live site.
- Checking websites for broken links.
- Content editing following usability best practices for the web.
- Acting as a liaison between organizational members and website committee
- Communicating changes, new features and general announcements about the web site to organization members as well as participating in new web initiatives by the organization.
- Attendance at periodic web production or committee meetings.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and cross-browser support.
- Familiarity with HTML5 and CSS3.
- Strong working knowledge of WordPress, including template creation, administration, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with Drupal and Joomla.
- Strong working knowledge of the Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Dreamweaver.
- Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Flash.
- Ability to communicate with clients via email, telephone, and in meetings.
- Familiarity with responsive design concepts.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, and MySQL.
- Familiarity with Google products, including Google Analytics, Google AdWords, and Google Webmaster.
